Karlsruher SC is facing another departure. Midfielder Nicolai Rapp is leaving the club to join Dynamo Dresden in the 2. Bundesliga. Rapp has been with KSC since 2024 and has gained a lot of experience during this time. The 29-year-old is joining Dresden on a free transfer and is expected to fill the gap left by Kofi Amoako's move to Hamburger SV. Nicolai Rapp is an experienced player who knows the league extremely well and can bring stability to a team with his playing style. Born in Heidelberg, Rapp was trained at the TSG 1899 Hoffenheim youth academy and gained experience in the 2. Bundesliga with SpVgg Greuther Fürth, FC Erzgebirge Aue, 1. FC Union Berlin, and Darmstadt 98. He also played his first Bundesliga games for Werder Bremen. After a loan spell at 1. FC Kaiserslautern, he played for KSC since 2024. In total, the 29-year-old has played nine Bundesliga games and 211 games in the 2. Bundesliga. Meanwhile, striker Fabian Schleusener is leaving KSC after five years to join Fortuna Düsseldorf. Sören Gonther, the sports director of Dynamo Dresden, is convinced that Rapp will play an important role for the team. Rapp himself said that he has enjoyed wearing the KSC jersey and is now looking forward to a new challenge at Dynamo Dresden.
